Real Estate News, Updates, and Random Thoughts…

Are You Ready for 2022? GAR Forms Changes are Coming!

Are You Ready for 2022? GAR Forms Changes are Coming!

Each year, the GAR Forms (GA Assoc. of REALTORS® official real estate forms) – the most widely used real estate forms in Georgia – is revised and updated to reflect changes in our customs and practices, to adapt to changes in the case law, to conform with changing laws and regulations .

Some years, the changes are significant, other years, not so much. But the process of getting to this point is a long an arduous one for the GAR Forms Committee.

Having served on the GAR Forms Committee for several years, I had the privilege of serving as vice-chairman of the committee in 2020 and then as chairman this year in 2021. It’s been a wild and bumpy ride – what with COVID causing us to address issues we’d never anticipated and then dealing with this crazy, extreme seller’s market where it seemed a lot of buyers had lost their minds taking a lot of risks – often against our advice! – willing to waive all sorts of rights and protections in a competitive bid to have their offer accepted in multiple offer situations.

Well, it’s December and now it’s time to ensure all of our members and users of the forms familiarize themselves with the changes!

To that end, we are partnering with the Golden Isles Assoc. of REALTORS® (GIAR) once again to offer four upcoming GAR Forms Updates classes. Registration is handled by GIAR at http://MyGIAR.com and will be held live, in person, in the Training Room at 1801 Gloucester Street, Brunswick, GA 31520 and the schedule is as follows:

Join us and make sure you are ready for 2022!

Our passion for real estate and education can be seen the success of our students. We’re proud to say that our past students make up some of the most successful REALTORS® working in (and beyond) our market today!

“….to tell you how impressed my fellow associates are with my contract writing skills.

Apparently, not many schools teach contracts like you do. I remember wanting to poke my eyes out during the contract exercises! Now I’m so thankful for those exercises and I feel comfortable when I complete my contracts.

I passed my state test on May, 16, went to work May, 17 and I’ve been the most busy I’ve been in my life… but I love it!!

I hope your future classes realize the worth in their education they receive from you. I blew through my state exam like it was nothing and that’s because I took your class seriously and I used every resource you offered us.

I know for a fact you’re the reason I will succeed as a Realtor.

“I took my pre-license class with Midi Shaw as my instructor. Midi really explained everything thoroughly and is very knowledgeable. I was prepared for my State exam and she had me ready to pursue my career. Midi has also been an instructor in many of my CE classes and is excellent in those as well!”

Sandra Branch

“Midi presented all course material in a way that was easy to understand and interesting. It is very obvious she has a passion for the real estate industry and cares about your success. If you’re trying to get your real estate license in Georgia I highly recommend her school to anyone.”

“5 Stars! I took Midi’s Broker Pre-License course and it was interesting and engaging throughout. It was not an easy course to pass (it shouldn’t be!) but I was very well prepared for the course final and the state licensing exam. Best part? Being able to apply what I learned in the course to my real estate practice as a Broker/Owner.

Allison van Der Veer
GIAR Past President 2020
Roland Daniels Properties
(St. Simons Island, GA)

“The instructor, Midi Shaw, was engaging, professional and available even outside of classroom time. She presented the material in a way that was understandable and related the information to real life examples. I was very well prepared for the class final exam as well as the state exam! Highly recommend!”
